Hi, I'm Joani

Healthcare Professional, Personal Trainer & Certified Sea Kayak Instructor

I am not only a healthcare professional but also someone who lives with both ADHD and PTSD. While resistant to the diagnoses initially, I came to accept and even embrace them. My journey has been filled with academic learning, self-discovery and self-compassion.

The diagnosis of ADHD was like getting an instruction manual to my brain, while the PTSD diagnosis forced me to stop being reckless with myself and start taking care of my body, mind and soul. The experience overall was humbling, as I was firmly in the “that won’t happen to me” camp.

After learning a lot about my own experience and adding in academic learning, I’ve been able to help other people who suspect some level of ADHD or trauma. Sharing these skills with others who are just beginning their journey is incredibly rewarding to me.
